Everywhere in the world there is a revolution going on, a transformation of business and of the products and services needed and wanted by people. At the heart of this revolution are organisations and their leaders and managers. This is underlined by a reality that, whatever was done in the past, and however it was carried out, new ways and new methods are essential for the future. Above all, this means developing a much better understanding of what organisational leadership and management actually are. The background against which this revolution is taking place is one of economic, social, political and environmental turbulence and upheaval. The global business, political and social environment are unstable and volatile. Ever greater demands and strains are placed on finite and diminishing resources. Globalisation means that production and service delivery activities can now be located anywhere in the world.
