This book honors “the presence of absence,” the almost daily inspiration of those I have lost: my mother, Marjorie Tomlinson Fraker; my daughter, Alison Gwen Fraker; my sister, Wenda Warren Fraker; and my brother, Howard Hopkins Fraker.
