■ The UK’s MHRA has ruled that products containing 1,3-dimethylamylamine (DMAA) must be removed from the UK market on the basis of potential safety issues.* DMAA has been linked to several ADRs worldwide, including at least one fatality. The MHRA ruled that the popular sports supplement Jack3D is an unlicensed medicinal product, but all DMAAcontaining supplements must be removed. "People need to be aware when choosing their sports supplements. These products may claim to increase performance but contain powerful ingredients which can have serious side effects" said David Carter, Manager of the MHRA’s Medicines Borderline Section. * See also Reactions 1415 p4; 803075269 The Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency.
