Preface

The European–Japanese Cerebrovascular Congress (EJCVC) was initiated in Zurich, Switzerland, in 2001 by Prof. Y. Sakurai and Prof. Y. Yonekawa, under the name “Swiss– Japanese Joint Conference.” The second meeting was also organized in Zurich 2 years later. The third meeting, under the name “European–Japanese Joint Conference for Stroke Surgery,” was held in 2006 in conjunction with the 70th Anniversary of the Department of Neurosurgery, University Hospital Zurich.
