Preface
In recent years, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are being extensively used in many applications, namely, not only environmental science but also precision agriculture, intelligent transportation, Internet of Things (IoT), surveillance, security, rescue operations, and entertainment industry. A UAV equipped with a multiple of sensors, each of which providing a piece of complementary information, augments the data collected using ground-based sensors and remotely sensed imagery captured from satellites. This book, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle: Applications in Agriculture and Environment, provides conceptual as well as operational aspects of unmanned aerial vehicles and their role in agriculture and environment. This book is not meant for engineers who want to design unmanned aerial vehicles for their applications; rather, the key focus of this book is on the use of UAVs in applications including precision agriculture, forest management, crop monitoring, fertilization management, plant health monitoring, area management, road patrolling, 3D modeling, topographic surveys,
