Vasopressin Treatment ineffectiveness: case report

A 38-year-old man exhibited treatment ineffectiveness during vasopressin therapy for massive haemoptysis [route and dosage not stated]. The man, who had undergone radiofrequency ablation for atrial fibrillation (RAAF) 10 days ago, was admitted to an emergency department with massive haemoptysis. Subsequently, he received medical treatment with vasopressin and haemagglutinin [specific drug not stated], but it was ineffective. Later on, he underwent transcatheter embolisation; however, haemoptysis recurred thereafter. During pulmonary CT angiography domplete occlusion of the left superior pulmonary vein was noted. Thus, diagnosis of hemoptysis secondary to RAAF-induced pulmonary vein stenosis was made. Finally, he underwent left superior lobectomy after which the haemoptysis did not recur. Xuan Z, et al.
