Worldwide HTA access to ICER’s cost-effectiveness models All international health technology assessment (HTA) agencies will be able to access cost-effectiveness models from the Institute for Clinical and Economic Review (ICER) in a "first-of-its-kind program" announced today by the ICER. Access to the models will be via a new cloud-based platform, called the ICER Interactive Modeler, and will allow customisation of model assumptions and inputs to reflect local conditions. The ICER-developed COVID-19 model, which evaluates the cost effectiveness of remdesivir and other treatments for COVID-19, will be the first one available on the platform. Additional models from previous, ongoing and future reports will be made available by ICER in conjunction with academic collaborators. The Interactive Modeler will be formally launched for patient groups, life science companies, payers and other stakeholders in November 2020, with several models available initially and additional models added frequently in the future. The aim of the initiative is to increase HTA assessment transparency, whilst allowing access to ICER models for all HTA groups, and enabling the HTA community to provide economic model results to inform government policy on drug pricing and coverage. International HTAs from the UK, Australia, Canada and South Africa are already participating in this programme. "We have had extensive interest among HTA groups in utilizing our COVID model, and we are proud that the Interactive Modeler can now make that model . . . available and accessible to lower and middle income countries as well as HTA agencies in major European and other markets", commented President of ICER, Steven D.
