Over the last decade, there has been an explosion in understanding the treatment of alcoholic/non-alcoholic digestive diseases as well as various clinical challenges and research results. Alcohol, nutrition, and dietary habits are closely related to most lifestyle-related diseases as well as people’s quality of life. These lead to not only ischemic heart disease but also digestive system disorders. Alcohol confers a direct impact on the digestive system due to its contact with gastrointestinal mucosa and disturbance in digestive functions. Various diseases of the gastrointestinal tract may be associated with an excessive alcohol intake, and the relationship between alcohol consumption and hepatic and pancreatic damage is widely recognized. Obesity- based metabolic syndrome has been seen as a risk factor for a variety of digestive diseases, and obesity has been implicated in various gastrointestinal diseases including gastroesophageal reflex diseases and colorectal cancer as well as liver diseases known as non-alcoholic fatty liver diseases.
