Behavioural side-effects: case report In a case series, a 25-year-old man was described, who developed behavioural side-effects during treatment with levetiracetam and two unspecified anti-seizure drugs for generalised tonic-clonic seizures. The man, who had a history of substance abuse, had several hospital admissions because of generalised tonic-clonic seizures and behavioral abnormalities (walking naked and rambling). His laboratory examination test results were unremarkable at each hospitalisation. He had been receiving three anti-seizure drugs, including levetiracetam [routes and dosages not stated; names of the remaining two anti-seizure drugs not stated]. During the investigation for synthetic metabolite, he had tested positive for 5-Fluoro ADB Carboylate. Hence, he was transferred to drug abuse rehabilitation. The behavioral side-effects which he had experienced were due to treatment with anti-seizure drugs [durations of treatment to reactions onsets not stated]. Hence, the man’s treatment with anti-seizure drugs was slowly weaned, starting from levetiracetam. He was advised to follow-up with the neurologist. No further hospitalisations were reported [outcomes not stated]. Elnazeir M, et al. Neurological manifestations associated with synthetic cannabinoid use-A case series.
