Alexa R. Weingarden, M.D., Ph.D., is a first-year gastroenterology fellow at Stanford University. She completed her internal medicine residency training at Stanford and her M.D./Ph.D. at the University of Minnesota, where she studied fecal microbiota transplantation as a treatment for C. difficile infection. She intends to continue her research in the gut microbiome in health and disease during fellowship. Her clinical interests include inflammatory bowel disease and women’s GI health.
