Somnolence in an infant: case report A 9-month-old boy was hospitalised following accidental ingestion of one buprenorphine/naloxone [Suboxone] 8mg/2mg tablet. He became somnolent and, on admission 30 minutes postingestion, examination revealed mitotic pupils, slow, shallow respiration and depressed mental status. He was treated with naloxone, with a total naloxone dose of 5mg administered before reversal of his somnolence. He remained lethargic with mitotic pupils for approximately 43 hours postingestion.
