Febrile neutropenia and non-neutropenic fever: 2 case reports In a retrospective study of 33 patients, 2 patients [ages and sexes not stated] were described, among whom one patient developed febrile neutropenia, and the other patient developed non-neutropenic fever during treatment with carboplatin for metastatic seminoma. The patients were hospitalised due to febrile neutropenia and non-neutropenic fever secondary to carboplatin, respectively [dosages, routes, duration of treatments to reactions onsets and outcomes not stated]. Author comment: "There was one admission for febrile neutropenia and one admission for non-neutropenic fevers". "In summary, carboplatin monotherapy is associated with low rates of neutropenic fever compared to cisplatin-based chemotherapy." "Previously reported studies of carboplatin AUC10 monotherapy have described its efficacy. This study reports on the toxicity and deliverability of this regimen." Duncan S, et al.
