Clozapine Urinary incontinence: case report Clozapine 500mg daily [route not stated] was started in a 21-year-old man following relapse and poor response to quetiapine, risperidone, haloperidol and amisulpride. He had been diagnosed with body dysmorphic disorder and adolescent anxious avoidant behaviour at the age of 17 years; he also had a history of nocturnal incontinence, controlled with amisulpride. Although his mental disorders stabilised, he developed a re-emergence of incontinence with nocturia occurring most nights [duration of treatment before reaction not stated]. A kidney ultrasound was performed and a urological review advised that the symptoms of incontinence were contributed by clozapine. With continued used of clozapine, no change in incontinence was noted. Author comment: "Clozapine caused reemergence of incontinence in a person vulnerable to develop incontinence due to schizophrenic process." Zaman N, et al.
