Preface
The present volume is a snapshot of current research on verb representation and processing, embodying the rich interdisciplinary perspective of cognitive science. It brings together different linguistic perspectives on verbs as well as contributions from psycholinguistics, neurolinguistics, and cognitive neuroscience, showcasing the diversity of theoretical approaches and types of empirical evidence bearing on the nature of verb structure and meaning. Together with linguistic theory and its empirical (cross-linguistic, distributional) evidence, we present data stemming from behavioral experiments, cases of aphasia, brain imaging, and language acquisition.
