Definition “Women empowerment” broadly refers as the capability to take self-decisions, freedom to exert their choices, self-reliance, accessing resources, capacity to influence the social change for building a more just social and economic order nationally and internationally (Chowdhury and Chowdhury 2011; Varghese 2011). Kishor and Gupta (2004) defines Empowerment as the process by which the powerless gain control over their living conditions that allows one to overcome external barriers. From the perspective of Bhattacharya and Banerjee (2012), empowerment is a process of capability enhancement which encourages women to attain power through social networking. Porter (2013) also claimed women’s

empowerment is about power with and power to, instead of power over. And these powers bring transformative change by mobilizing women in communities to bring about positive change. But the mobility constraints have been an obstacle to Shora women’s full enjoyment of their human rights (Roy 2020). At the same time, “representation” means the production of meaning through language to other people. It is an essential part of a culture that involves the use of language, of signs and images which represent, describe, or depict things. It holds that it is the author, who imposes his or her unique meaning on the world through language (Hall 1997). Women can be empowered by representation in the social and political process. For instance, the process of empowerment of the female representatives occurs when the female political members acquire new knowledge about politics and local issues. This is one of the positive effects of their presence in political field. During political meetings, they get informed about specific problems of their locality and they participate in solving those problems. This new knowledge and their participation in local politics empower them to a great extent (Padder 2012).
