Abstract Toxoplasmosis is a zoonotic protozoal disease caused by Toxoplasma gondii, an intracellular opportunistic protozoan parasite that can infect any warm-blooded vertebrate cell. In this study, zirconium, and iron-based metal-organic framework was prepared according to the solvothermal method. New nanocomposite (Curcumin@MOFs) was prepared by reacting curcumin with amino-functionalized metal-organic frameworks (Fe-MOF and UiO-66-NH2). Besides characterizations of the composite by powder X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscope, nano-Curcumin@MOFs was used as a new novel structure as atrial for treatment of chronic toxoplasmosis. Results showed a reduced number of brain cysts, high levels of serum Toxo IgG, and normal histo-morphology with preserved parenchymal, and stromal tissues in rats groups treated with curcumin and Curcumin@MOFs nanocomposite. 1 Introduction Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) is additionally called porous coordination polymer, it consists of the organic monomer and metal center [1]. The unique repetition units make MOFs excellent crystalline compounds with porous structure and high surface area [2]. These unique properties making MOFs have application in a lot of areas. MOFs are not only used in catalysis [3], gas storage [4] separation [5], water treatment [6], fuel purification [7], light emitters [8–10] but also used in drug delivery and imaging applications [11]. To date, most studies have investigated the pathway associated with pain and severe complications; while nano MOFs for oral administration, a common and simpler route commonly used, remain unexplored. MOFs have used in a biological systems such as the treatment of cancer. Breast cancer can commonly be treated with doxorubicin (DOX), MOFs coated with chitosan can be used as a pH-responsive and target-selective system for delivery of doxorubicin. The use of MOFs@chitosan composite show a slow and continuous release profile [12]. Another example is a composite from IRMOF-3, F
