Docetaxel/unspecified platinum complexes Oesophageal fistula: case report

In a retrospective study of 89 patients who had locally advanced stage III non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) treated with concurrent radiochemotherapy at a cancer centre in France between 2005 and 2014, a man [age not stated] was described, who died due to oesophageal fistula following chemotherapy with docetaxel and unspecified platinum-complexes for NSCLC. The man, who had locally advanced stage III NSCLC with oesophageal involvement, started receiving IV injection of docetaxel weekly and IV injection of unspecified platinum-complexes weekly [platinum-based drug; doses not stated]. Concurrently, he received thoracic radiotherapy. Following the end of concurrent treatment, he died due to grade V oesophageal fistula [time to reaction onset not stated]. Kaderbhai C-G, et al.
