Dear EC2ND Delegate It is with great pleasure that I welcome you at the University of Glamorgan and the School of Computing for the inaugural event of the European Conference on Computer Network Defence. I truly hope that you will enjoy your time here and that the presentations of the contributing authors will provide a sound basis for discussion and thought. I also hope that you will find the contents of this volume to be a valuable aid and reference in this ever-challenging area. This first call for papers attracted great interest worldwide. We were pleased to receive submissions from a large number of potential contributors, from at least fifteen different countries on five continents. The review process resulted in the acceptance of twenty-eight papers, included in this volume. Other nine contributions were accepted as poster papers and are included as a supplemental edition in the delegates packs. The presenting authors come from institutions throughout the world, as different and far as Algeria and Australia, Chile and China, the Czech Republic, Egypt, France, Hungary, India, Ireland, Korea, Saudi Arabia, the U.S. and the U.K. etc. This is a clear representation of the interest in the area of Computer Network Defence and its emerging importance for the protection of nations and businesses alike. I would like to thank the Programme Committee and the other Conference Reviewers for kindly contributing with their time, assuring a scholarly fair and rigour review process. Their
