The Origin of This Book This book was originally inspired by the first author’s senior academic colleague, Professor Glauco De Vita, with whom they both successfully supervised two PhD researchers to completion on local content policy and stakeholder analysis, and energy demands in Sub-Saharan Africa at Oxford Brookes University. Just after Professor De Vita left, he sowed a seed of encouragement into Sola Adesola to consider publishing a book; at that time, energy was never on the plan. The idea of a book then was on entrepreneurship in Africa. From mid-2016, however, Dr Adesola had been asked to be an international panel expert for the Nigeria Energy Forum, and a panel member at the Nigerian Society Energy Conference at Cranfield University. She also had the opportunity to peer review energy conference papers. Prior to the conference, she had an unforgettable opportunity to shar
