Etanercept Lichenoid eruption in an elderly patient: case report A 70-year-old woman started receiving etanercept [Enbrel] 25mg twice weekly for plaque psoriasis. After 5 weeks, she had developed pruritic lesions within her pre-existing psoriatic lesions on the dorsa of both of her wrists, hands and proximal fingers. These new lesions were described as purple erythematosquamous plaques, which had moderately sharp demarcation. Histology revealed a lichenoid pattern. Etanercept was discontinued and, 4 weeks later, the new lesions had almost completely resolved. She started receiving dithranol for her psoriatic lesions. Bovenschen HJ, et al.
