Abstract Due to the high energy consumption of China’s industrial structure, this has led to serious environmental pollution; in order to improve the efficiency of coal mine pollution reduction, the application of the basic principle of analytic hierarchy process (AHP) was used to select the evaluation index of coal mine pollution reduction, coal mine pollution reduction project, environment benefit evaluation, and target layer analysis. This paper takes the benefit composition and characteristics of coal mine pollution emission reduction project as the entry point, and the actual situation of coal mine pollution emission reduction as the basis; constructs the comprehensive evaluation model of technical and environment benefits of coal mine pollution emission reduction project; and establishes the corresponding comprehensive evaluation system. Through the case study of a mining area, the scientificity, practicality, and feasibility of the index system design are tested. Keywords Coal mine pollution reduction . Sustainable development . Environmental protection . Analytic hierarchy process

Introduction Energy, resources, and environment are the material basis for sustainable environment and social development and the indispensable material conditions for the development of enterprises. Since the reform and opening up, China’s economy has achieved rapid development, and the process of industrialization and urbanization has been accelerated. Along with the environment development, China’s energy demand for electricity, coal, oil, and other resources has increased significantly. Coupled with the long-term extensive development model, the consumption of energy and resources has increased sharply, and the pollution has increased. The human living environment is facing severe challenges (Zhang et al. 2018). At present, the water damage caused by the coal mining in our country, water loss, water pollution, ground subsidence, This article is part of the Topical Collection on Geological Modeling and Geospatial Data Analysis * Lianchun Zhou [email protected] 1

atmospheric pollution and gangue pollution, vegetation destruction, soil erosion, ecological degradation, destruction of the land, and subsidence caused by geological disasters, has seriously affected the region, such as further development, so coal mines to carry out the strategy of pollution reduction are of great significance (Sidemo-Holm et al. 2018). To achieve energy conservation and emission reduction targets, change the development idea, innovation, and development mode, and improve the quality of development, the national development and reform commissi
