Foreword

The extremophiles are those microorganisms thriving under extreme conditions where no other living being will have any chance to survive. The Eurasian zone examples of extreme habitats are those presenting high temperatures, such as hot springs, or those with high salt concentrations, such as salines and hypersaline lakes. The study of extremophiles brings great interest from both the physiologi
