Data on the tensor and vector analyzing powers (Ayy and Ay , respectively) in the fragmentation of a 9-GeV/c deuteron on hydrogen and carbon nuclei at high proton transverse momenta are presented. These data are compared with the results of relevant calculations performed within light-front dynamics by using various deuteron wave functions. The best description of the data is attained with the relativistic deuteron wave function derived within field-theory light-front dynamics.

Results that were obtained at the GRAAL facility by measuring the total cross sections for photon absorption in the energy range Eγ = 600−1500 MeV are presented. The experiment described here was performed in a beam of gamma rays obtained by means of inverse Compton scattering with the aid of the wide-aperture detector LAGRANγE and a liquid-hydrogen target. Two alternative methods for measuring total cross sections were used to improve the accuracy. The first method, based on the subtraction of the background from the empty target, proved to be possible owing to a low level of the electromagnetic background. Summation of partial cross sections for dominant meson-photoproduction channels is used in the second method. The experimental data obtained in this way are compared with the results of other authors.

Electroproduction of J/ J/ψ Mesons and Their Production in Gluon–Gluon Collisions under the Assumption of Quark–Hadron Duality A. V. Berezhnoy and A. K. Likhoded

On the basis of the assumption of quark–hadron duality, it is shown that the color-singlet contribution to the cross sections for the processes e + g → e + J/ψ + g and gg → J/ψg increases upon taking into account the relative motion of quarks in the J/ψ meson.

Model of the Preequilibrium Decay of Nuclei with Allowance for the Dissipation of the Excitation Energy O. N. Vyazankin and V. F. Denisov

A method is proposed for quantitatively describing the preequilibrium decay of deformed nuclei with allowance for the interplay of collective and single-particle degrees of freedom.
