Three years after launching the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and agreeing on far-reaching global ambitions on climate action at the Paris Summit, the world looks increasingly fragmented. Daily news confirms sweeping nationalism and phobia against ‘others’ all around. The spirit of collaboration is vanishing. Goodwill of sustainability is confronted with socio-economic fundamentals of many people feeling left behind, with widespread anger in each part of societies and with environmental challenges threatening the health and livelihood of millions.
