Preface
The problem of global environmental change is the subject of global ecoinformatics in the context of which information technologies have been developed to ensure the combined use of various data on the past and present state of the climate-naturesociety system (CNSS). The intensification of anthropogenic effects on the environment creates a large number of CNSS optimization management problems. However, the existing tools for the solution of arising problems do not allow effective technologies to reliably diagnose numerous environmental processes and allow for the prognosis assessment of possible consequences for the population. Nevertheless, the recent research results obtained by the authors of this book are encouraging, since it is expected that the combined use of microwave remote sensing tools and ecoinformatics methods will contribute to the development of new efficient and reliable technologies for operational diagnostics and forecasting environmental processes of both regional and global scales. The global climate change discussed in recent years in relation to the global carbon cycle and greenhouse effect is of part
