Mineral-oil misuse Penile paraffinoma following misuse of mineral-oil for penile enlargement: 3 case report

In a study, three men [ages not stated], were described; who developed penile paraffinoma following misuse of mineral oil for penile enlargement. Three men, who had illicitly injected mineral-oil [liquid paraffin; doses not stated] from a non healthcare professional for penile enlargement, presented with penile swelling, pain, and penile deformation. Subsequently, a diagnosis of penile paraffinoma was made. The men were treated with unspecified antibiotics and analgesics. Thereafter, out of 3 men, one man, who responded to conservative management was transferred to the plastic surgery team for penile excision and reconstruction, one man underwent penile circumcision and excision with direct closure and the other man, who had signs of abscess required incision and drainage of the superficial abscess and later transferred to the plastic surgery for delayed debridement and reconstruction as required.
