Minocycline Nail and skin discolouration: case report After 12 years’ therapy with oral minocycline 100mg twice daily for recalcitrant rosacea, a 49-year-old man presented with discolouration of his nails and facial skin. Examination revealed blue-grey discolouration of the nail beds, without disturbed nail formation, and subtle patchy dark-brown discolouration of the periorbital skin. The results of laboratory investigations and cardiovascular, respiratory and abdominal examinations were unremarkable. Prolonged use of minocycline was considered the cause of the nail and skin discolouration. Six months after discontinuing minocycline, the discolourations had not yet resolved. Tavares J, et al.
