Anaphylaxis: case report A 44-year-old woman, who had previously received moxifloxacin without an adverse reaction, started receiving moxifloxacin [dosage and route of administration not stated] for a respiratory infection. Ten minutes after her first dose, she developed generalised urticaria, pruritus, angioedema of her face and hands, dyspnoea and general discomfort. Moxifloxacin was discontinued. She received systemic corticosteroids and antihistamines. Within 2 hours, her respiratory symptoms and skin lesions completely resolved. Intradermal testing with moxifloxacin was positive at 0.004 mg/mL dilution. She tolerated a single-blind oral challenge with levofloxacin. She was recommended to use levofloxacin in the future.
