The prognosis of patients with adenocarcinoma of the pancreas remains poor notwithstanding the enormous progress achieved in the imaging of this disease during the past two decades by the introduction of the cross-sectional new imaging modalities including Pet-CT Because this disease remains an important cause of death, due to oncological cause in men and women, big efforts have been made to clarify its epidemiology and pathology genetics as well as to develop new strategic concepts for therapy.
