Abstract A new coordination complex with the chemical formula of [Co9(bta)12(NO3)6(DMA)6]·3DMA (1), (DMA = N,N-dimethylacetamide) was formed by solvothermal reaction of Co(NO3)2·6H2O with Hbta (Hbta = benzotriazole). The as-prepared complex 1 was characterized via thermogravimetric (TG) analysis, analysis of element, X-ray single-crystal diffraction, and powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD). Furthermore, the treatment activity of the compound on the Coronary atherosclerotic heart disease (CHD) was assessed and mechanism was investigated at the same time. First, the release of inflammatory cytokines in plasma was detected by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) test kit. Then, the real time reverse transcriptionpolymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) was finished to determine the tumor necrosis factor-a induced protein-8 type2 (TIPE2) expression levels in endothelial cells. The molecular docking results reveal the possible interacting poses for the potential capability of immune homeostasis. Introduction Coronary atherosclerotic heart disease (CHD), also known as ischemic heart Disease (IHD)refers to heart disease caused by atherosclerosis of coronary arteries resulting in stenosis or occlusion of the lumen, leading to myocardial necrosis, hypoxia or ischemia (Kalra et al. 2020; Akhlaghi et al. 2020). In the past ten years, cardiovascular disease accounted for 41.1% of the main causes of urban resident Electronic supplementary material The online version of this article (https://doi.org/10.1007/s11696-020-01390-0) contains supplementary material, which is available to authorized users. * Xiaozheng Li [email protected] * Haiying Li [email protected] 1

death, and 38.7% in rural areas, ranking first among various diseases (Hanser et al. 2020). The mortality rate of coronary heart disease in cities was 95.97/100,000. The rural area is 75.72/100,000, which showed an increase level since 2010 (86.34/100,000, 69.24/100,000) (Liu et al. 2020). However, its exact etiology and pathogenesis have not been fully elucidated, which strict the clinical diagnosis and treatment for the CHD. The transition metal complexes of N-containing heterodentate ligands have attracted much attention because of their good biological activities, bonding behaviors, diverse structures and potential applica
