Although there are many comprehensive cytology texts, there are not many that give a broad approach to cytopathology with practical tips. Such teaching is inherently difficult and is built on a very deep understanding of the ‘art and science’ of cytopathology in the back drop of very sound clinical knowledge. This book fills that void. It covers aspects that are beyond standard interpretation, and yet essential in achieving the final goal of cytopathology practice which is patient care. Thyroid, lymph node, salivary gland, effusion cytology and cytopathology of endoscopic ultrasound-guided (EUS) aspirates are given special attention with the novel slant of pre- and post-analytical issues.
