Abstract—Thermothrips Pelikán, 1949 with the single species Thermothrips mohelensis Pelikán, 1949 is recorded from Central Yakutia for the first time for Siberia. Keywords: thrips, fauna, Thermothrips, Thermothrips mohelensis, Central Yakutia DOI: 10.1134/S0013873820040107

developed. Median setae (S1) on abdominal tergites II– VIII long, with approximate bases (Fig. 1, 5). Tergite VIII without comb—the row of microtrichia; without ctenidia. Segment X of female with dorsal slit. Male with glandular area on abdominal sternites III–VII (Fig. 1, 6).

At present, 57 species of 3 families, Aeolothripidae, Thripidae, and Phlaeothripidae, are known in the thrips fauna of Yakutia (Evdokarova and Velikan, 2011; Evdokarova and Doricova, 2013; Shmakov and Evdokarova, 2013; Evdokarova and Zvarikova, 2016; Evdokarova and Vierbergen, 2018). We found in Central Yakutia a monotypical genus of the family Thripidae, Thermothrips Pelikán, 1949, new to the fauna of Siberia. Earlier, Thermothrips mohelensis was recorded for the European part of Russia from Kursk Province (Schliephake, 1977). These genus and species rare in Russia are described below.

The genus includes only 1 species. Thermothrips mohelensis Pelikán, 1949 Thermothrips mohelensis Pelikán, 1949 : 37–41. Material. Russia. Central Yakutia, environs of Yakutsk, Botanical Garden of IBPC SB RAS (62°01ʹN, 129°36ʹE), steppe slope of southeastern exposition and xerophytic meadow, Galium verum, 19.VI.2017, 15.VI.2018 (Т.G. Evdokarova), 8 ♀, 2 ♂.
