Application for Editorial Board of Journal of Minimal Access Surgery(JMAS) 5th May 2020 IAGES is reconstituting editorial board of Journal of Minimal Access Surgery(JMAS) and invites applications for the following positions: - Editor (2 positions) - Associate Editors (2 positions) - Sectional Editors (1 position each for Upper GI, Bariatric, Colorectal, HPB, Solid organ, Hernia, Robotic, Flexible Endoscopy) - Editorial board members A surgeon may apply for a maximum of two positions out of the above. Term in Office - Editors and Associate Editors = 5 years - Sectional Editors and Board members = 2 years Process for Application Kindly submit online before 10th June 2020, the following to Dr Deepraj Bhandarkar, Secretary, JMAS EB Selection Committee ([email protected]): A letter of interest, CV (including a complete list of publications) and a writeup outlining reasons for applying and suitability for the post. The summary table provided below needs to be included in the letter / email of interest. Eligibility criteria for Editors / Associate Editors / Sectional Editors The committee will select candidates based on several of the following criteria a. Members in good standing of IAGES. b. Surgeons with academic eminence in the field including teacher / thesis guide for MS, DNB or FNB postgraduates c. Publications in national or international peer reviewed journals d. Prior experience as a reviewer for national / international journals d. Prior experience as an editorial board member of other national / international journals or e. Experience in the capacity of a senior editorial position in national or international journal.
f. Recommendations of the Selection Committee to the Executive Committee of IAGES shall consider the quality of publications, applicability of research in MAS field and level of commitment for the post Eligibility criteria for Editor Board Members The committee will select candidates based on several of the following criteria a. Members in good standing of IAGES. b. Surgeons with academic eminence in the field including teacher / thesis guide for MS, DNB or FNB postgraduates c. Publications in peer reviewed national or international peer reviewed journals d. Prior experience as a reviewer for national / international journals is desirable but not mandatory. f.
