Abstract In current technological development on the design of wireless communication network, it is observed that one of the critical issues is dependable network. The dependable network encompasses the properties like availability, reliability and survivability. The wireless networks are more complicated with problems such as allocation of frequencies, service quality and node or link failures. Hence, survivability is one of the significant factors to be considered during the design process. Survivability is attained by achieving fault tolerance. Survivability can be achieved by having high node connectivity (k) in the topological design of network. This chapter presents a symmetric method based on bisection logic (BSA) to generate a k-node connected network structure for maximal connectivity number k and hence highly survivable network structures.

insist on reliable services. The major objective is to achieve end-end performance and dependability in the network. The dependable networks are valued on parameters like reliability, survivability and availability. The estimation of network failure probability is the reliability of the network structure. The estimation of network ready time for usage without any interference is the availability of the network structure. Survivability is the ability of a network to execute its intended services upon infrastructure component failure. The wireless networks lack credibility by the factors of survivability, reliability and availability. The factors affecting these enhancements are diverse types of links like Zigbee, RF, Bluetooth, etc.; further the factors like lack of regulations, high CAPX, user mobility and OPEX. Also due to diversities in technology like CDMA, GSM, UMTS, 3G LTE environments degrade the performance [1]. Wireless communication networks are more vulnerable to failures, which can be a node failure or link failure. Even a single node failure could cause serious damage to the network services. Thus dependability issue has to be
