First report of anaphylaxis: case report A 58-year-old woman, who had been receiving danazol for 8 years, received an initial treatment of C1 inhibitor 1000U for pharyngeal angioedema. She developed serious anaphylaxis with respiratory distress and shock [time to reaction onset not stated] and required intensive care. Approximately 1.5 years later, recurrence of laryngeal/pharyngeal angioedema was successfully treated with ecallantide. Cicardi M, et al.
