Wayfinding is the process of finding our way from place to place. It is an essential part of everyday life, dependent not only on our personal resources but also the legibility of community environments and availability of aids to support wayfinding. Community Wayfinding: Pathways to Understanding examines the process and consequences of human wayfinding from the perspectives of diverse fields, describing what is known about wayfinding and articulating what needs to be done to create better wayfinding for all people, regardless of age, ability, or mode of transportation. Our goal is twofold: to promote a more unified approach to the study of wayfinding and to stimulate the application of that knowledge to the increasingly complex community environments where poor wayfin
