Bilateral adrenal haemorrhage: case report A 71-year-old woman developed bilateral adrenal bleeding during treatment with enoxaparin sodium as antithrombotic prophylaxis. The woman underwent knee osteosynthesis. She started receiving antithrombotic prophylaxis with enoxaparin sodium [enoxaparin; dosage and route not stated]. On the fifth post-operative day, she presented to emergency room with 12h of colic-like abdominal pain accompanied by nausea. She had no haemodynamic instability. Upon investigations, she was diagnosed with bilateral adrenal bleeding, which was attributed to enoxaparin sodium treatment [outcome not stated]. She did not develop adrenal insufficiency.
