The term “epulis” is applied to any lump arising from the gingiva. Epulides are localized gingival swellings and rarely true neoplasms, metastatic carcinomas or other tumours.

Dedication to Christos Laskaris Christos Laskaris was the son of Professor George Laskaris and his wife Vi vi. Christos was a final year student in the School of Dentistry, University of Belgrade. He was a bright young 24 year old man with an engaging personality, full of energy and vitality, always polite and friendly, always having a good word to say for everybody, always smiling and willing to help. We had all hoped he would succeed his father as an outstanding stomatologist. It was a tremendous misfortune to loose Christos so unexpectedly, and so unjustly, from a sudden illness.
