First, I want to express my many thanks to all the people who are responsible for the technological processes that made this project possible and allowed it to come to fruition over time. I’m very much an advocate for the use of technology as a vehicle to spread social justice, social awareness, specialized research, and unique life experiences. I feel that this book is my first attempt at spreading all of the above with a sincere concern for the direction of literacy education in the USA. Second, I would like to thank the Creator for giving me the abilities, spiritually, mentally, and physically, to do this work. It has always been a childhood dream of mine to help others in any profession that I chose, and, with my abilities, I have been able to see this dream come true through working with others on a day-to-day basis in my job, where I am committed to critical literacy education. This brings me to thanking the people who are most responsible for planting the seed of this dream in my mind at a young age so that I could strive for and achieve it. The first of these people is my dear grandmother, Zulema G. Trevino. Her motto was to always “Remember the Dream,” and she was a strong advocate for education as a means to elevate from poverty of
