As a colleague and friend of Amol Saxena, I feel honoured to write the foreword to Sports Medicine and Arthroscopic Surgery of the Foot and Ankle. During my 20 years of experience, I found the specialty of foot and ankle surgery growing unexpectedly. This was due to international collaboration between podiatric, orthopaedic, and trauma surgeons from around the globe.
