Preface

Application of compressed gases as solvents has found widespread attention within the scientific community, and some processes have reached industrial, or near-industrial state. This volume deals with the possibilities of supercritical gases as solvents for separation processes. It combines physico-chemical aspects with chemical engineering methods, and is intended to be used by students, practicing scientists, and engineers who want to make use of the techniques summarized as "Gas Extraction" , or want to know what it is all about.
