Heparin-induced thrombocytopenia: 2 case reports In a retrospective study involving 18 patients with active systemic vasculitis (study duration 1994 to 2019), two patients [ages and sexes not stated] were described, who developed heparin-induced thrombocytopenia during treatment with heparin for the active systemic vasculitis. The patients were diagnosed with systemic vasculitis. One patient was positive for both anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody and anti-glomerular basement membrane antibodies, while the other patient was negative for both anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody and anti-glomerular basement membrane antibodies. Subsequently, both the patients started receiving heparin [indications, dosages and routes not stated]. However, both the patients developed heparin-induced thrombocytopenia[duration of treatment to reactions onset and outcomes not stated]. Boni F, et al.
