Preface
The International Conference on Information Systems for Indian Languages (ICISIL 2011) has provided a first-of-its-kind platform to scientists, engineers, professionals, researchers and practitioners from India and abroad working on automation of Indian languages. The primary goal of the conference is to present state-of-the-art techniques and promote collaborative research and developmental activities in natural language processing of Indian languages and related fields. This pioneering effort has won many accolades and brought together the community, otherwise so diverse. In the technical session, seven topics were identified relating to the theme of the conferences. In all, 126 submissions were received.
