Acute liver injury: 2 case reports In a retrospective study of 209 patients admitted to the hospital in Israel between 1 January 2008 and 31 December 2015, two girls (a 14-year-old and a 17-year-old) were described, who developed acute liver injury following an intentional overdose of paracetamol [time to reactions onset and outcomes not stated]. The 14-year-old girl was admitted to the hospital following an intentional ingestion of paracetamol [acetaminophen] 12g (intentional overdose). She developed acute liver injury with AST level of 2382 units/L and ALT level of 2610 units/L secondary to intentional overdose of paracetamol. The 17-year-old girl was admitted to the hospital following an intentional ingestion of paracetamol [acetaminophen] 15g (intentional overdose). She developed acute liver injury with AST level of 977 units/L and ALT level of 3340 units/L secondary to intentional overdose of paracetamol. Her paracetamol level was 97 µg/mL.
