Preface

The small size of the adrenal gland belies its critical importance in medicine. Imaging of the adrenal gland has made tremendous strides in the last decade as new technologies continue to evolve. Consequently, we feel that it is an opportune time to distill, for the first time, the current state of knowledge available concerning imaging of the adrenal gland, into a single volume. In order for this text to offer widespread appeal and for completeness, we also considered it important to solicit current adrenal insights from medical disciplines other than imaging experts. These contributions are designed to be both independent (i.e. can be read on their own) and also be complementary to the remainder of the chapters. To allow this independence, specific information has been re-emphasized across different chapters according to the individual authors’ different p
