Preface

Electric distribution networks are critical parts of power delivery systems. In recent years, many new technologies and distributed energy resources have been integrated into these networks. To provide electricity at the required quality and at the lowest possible cost, an appropriate control and management of future electric grids is indispensable. The management system continuously monitors and controls various equipment in distribution network to reduce long-term operation and maintenance costs, to satisfy technical constraints of utilities and customers, and to improve security and reliability of power delivery. Since the integration of new technologies such as renewables and demand response is increasin
