This collection of articles is dedicated to Jacques Moeschler, Full Professor at the University of Geneva. His work in formal semantics and pragmatics, as well as in the framework of Relevance Theory, has impacted the research of many scientists in the field of formal linguistics as shown by the heterogeneity of the contributions to this book. It pays homage to the rich and diverse nature of Jacques Moeschler’s work and to his scientific expertise in the domain of Language Sciences, and more broadly, in that of cognitive sciences. It has been intended as a ‘Festschrift’ for his 60th birthday to which many of his colleagues and friends have more than happily contributed.
