Fatal neuroleptic malignant syndrome: case report A 52-year-old woman with an extensive medical history was admitted with respiratory failure, requiring mechanical ventilation. Following admission, her mental status declined and she became combative. Haloperidol was administered [route and dosage not stated]. She subsequently developed neuroleptic malignant syndrome (NMS) [duration of treatment to reaction onset not stated].
