Abstract As an effective type of educational resources, network-assisted teaching has become effective approaches to boost the creativity of education and to enhance the self-learning abilities of students. Taking the network-assisted teaching mode targeting for Veterinary Medicine depending on the campus network, the paper is aiming at evaluating the teaching effectiveness through comparative analysis of test results and questionnaire on this teaching mode. It is shown that the network-assisted teaching mode is superior to the single traditional classroom teaching mode and can improve the teaching effect significantly. Therefore, it is important to break through the limitations of traditional classroom teaching and contribute to the independent learning for students in terms of network-assisted teaching mode. 394.1 Introduction Animal histology and embryology, is an important morphology in Veterinary Medicine of agricultural schools. However, there were various problems to be solved in this subject, such as large capacity, tedious and abstract content, a wide range of knowledge, tight teaching hours and so on. On the other hand, it is more difficult to teach and to learn for the teachers and students respectively. Therefore, it is necessary to come up with a new teaching method as a useful complement to traditional teaching mode. its fully use of network and teacher resources, network-assisted teaching could provide an open, interactive, shared learning environment for students, which realizes the student-centered teaching and brings off the modern teaching methods and means. Furthermore, network-assisted teaching will be conducive to the reform of teaching content and teaching methods, there is bound to be positive impact on the transformation of teaching concepts, improving the quality of teaching and promoting quality education in all ways (1). This paper is going to explore out a new teaching model of network teaching as complementary of classroom teaching through establish the histology and embryology website based on the campus network.
