Abstract—Tautoneura polymitusa Oh & Jung, 2016 (Hemiptera: Auchenorrhyncha: Cicadellidae), a new genus and species of leafhopper for Eastern Europe, was registered in 2019 on Siberian elm (Ulmus pumila L.) in Donetsk and Lugansk oblasts of Ukraine and Rostov Region of Russia. The leafhoppers were recorded in urban plantings during the whole vegetation period, from late March to early November. The species was not found in natural forests and artificial plantations located far from settlements. The number of generations per season was not established. In the sex ratio, a significant predominance of females was reported. The most probable invasion vector is an unintentional introduction with traffic flows. INTRODUCTION All species of the suborder Auchenorrhyncha are phytophagous; many of them can be vectors for plant pathogenic microorganisms and viruses and, therefore, are of economical importance. During the last two years, three alien Auchenorrhyncha species were registered in the territory of the Donbass, two of them are North American species (Scaphoideus titanus Ball, 1932 and Metcalfa pruinosa (Say, 1830)) and one species from East Asia (Arboridia kakogawana (Matsumura, 1932)) (Martynov and Nikulina, 2018, 2019; Martynov et al., 2019). All revealed species belong to the category of dangerous agricultural pests. This study reports the record of Tautoneura polymitusa Oh & Jung, 2016, the first alien species of the Asiatic genus Tautoneura Anufriev, 1969 (Hemiptera: Auchenorrhyncha: Cicadellidae) in the fauna of Eastern Europe. The genus Tautoneura includes 60 species inhabiting the Indo-Malayan region (India, Southern China, Indo-China, Taiwan, and Malay Peninsula), Eastern Palearctic (Russian Far East, Korea, Eastern China, and Japan), and Pacific islands (Fiji and Samoa) (Dmitriev, 2003–2009; Song and Li, 2012; Tóth et al., 2017). The most of the species of this genus are associated with woody and shrubby plant species and are not
economically important. The only exception is T. mori (Matsumura, 1906) which can be vector of phytoplasmas causing mulberry dwarf and onion yellows (Jiang et al., 2005; Maejima et al., 2014). Tautoneura polymitusa (see Figs. 1a–1c) was described in 2016 from South Korea (Oh et al., 2016); at the same time, specimens of this species were regularly recorded (sometimes abundantly) in various settlements of European countries: northern Italy (2010), Spain (2010), Slovenia (2010), and Hungary (2012) (Tóth et al., 2017; Selj
